This is a brief list of recent updates to the Tanzil Project.

The following Russian translation is added to Tanzil:

The following Persian translation is added to Tanzil:

Tanzil is now served securely over HTTPS.

Tanzil player is upgraded to use HTML5 audio by default.

Version 1.1 of Tanzil Quran text is released. You can download the new version from our download page.

Tanzil is now fully dockerized. This helps us better serve visitors by running several instances of Tanzil docker on different servers, and load balance between them.

Two new features are added:

• History: You can now use back/forward buttons on your browser to navigate among pages/tabs you have previously visited on Tanzil.
• Deep links: You can directly link to any page/tab in Tanzil. For example:
  • http://tanzil.net/#6:1: links to aya 6:1.
  • http://tanzil.net/#search/quran/تنزيل: shows search results for the query word “تنزيل”.
  • http://tanzil.net/#trans/en.shakir/6:1: shows translation tab for aya 6:1 in English Shakir translation.

• A new Hindi translation by “Farooq Khan and Ahmed” is added.

Several new features are added to the Recitation menu:

• Repeat Times: You can specify how many times each aya should be repeated.
• Play Scope: You can select whether recitations go continuously, or stop at the end of each aya, sura, page, or juz.
• Delay Time: You can specify the delay between each two consecutive ayas.
• Interleaved Recitations: You can select two or more recitations to be played alternately. This is in particular useful if you want to hear translation audio after the recitation of each aya, or to hear an aya in several voices (reciters) for comparison and educational purposes.

Three new translations are added to Tanzil:

• A Bulgarian translation by Tzvetan Theophanov (Цветан Теофанов)
• A Persian translation by Mohammad Kazem Moezzi (محمد کاظم معزی)
• A Bosnian translation by Mustafa Mlivo

• A new recitation by Shahriar Parhizgar is added.

• Tanzil recitations now work on <b>iPad</b>, <b>iPod</b>, and <b>iPhone</b> (without needing flash player).

Two new features are added to Tanzil:

• Hot Keys: You can now navigate between ayas, pages, and suras, by pressing arrow keys on your keyboard, as described below:

• Translation Box: Automatically displays the translation of the currently highlighted aya in a small box next to the aya. This is in particular useful when recitations are played, as you do not need anymore to move your mouse to see the translation of recited aya.

Four new translations are added to Tanzil:

• A Kurdish translation by Burhan Muhammad-Amin (ته‌فسیری ئاسان)
• A Divehi translation by Office of the President of Maldives
• A Tajik translation by Abdol-Mohammad Ayati (a transliteration of his Persian translation)
• An English translation by Ahmed Raza Khan (from his Urdu translation)
